    –These will be updated as necessary–

    Warning: Never give out your forum account password or e-mail password to anyone! FaceRig employees and forum moderators will never ask for your passwords so if someone does, it’s a scam.

    Please read before making posts.

    Though the FaceRig community is still small at this point and until now we didn’t really have any unpleasant incidents with our awesome community members, we do expect this community to grow quite big and whether we like it or not some issues might appear in time. In order to help prevent this possible issues and keep a pleasant atmosphere on the forum, we’ve made a set of forum rules.

    General rules:
    * Do not post offensive content.
    Offensive content can include but is not limited to: racism, sexism, vulgar posts, obscene content and threats. You can disagree with someone’s views and still be polite about it.
    * Keep your post content PG in all aspects if possible.
    Things to avoid are posting graphic or pornographic content, nudity (even if artistic), and usage of harsh language. This is a forum that can be seen by kids and should be Safe for Work.
    * Do not spam.
    A post can be classified as spam if you post the same thing in multiple threads, post repeatedly in the same topic instead of editing your last post or just post the same comment multiple times, advertising, meaningless short replies (usually fewer than 7 words) which do not contribute to a forum thread in a positive manner and are used only to increase your post count or other unfavourable posting behaviour.
    * Do NOT post personal information
    It’s ok if you want to use your real name, but do not post your telephone number, street address, etc. We are not responsible of what can happen if you do that. Also, your are not to disclose other member’s personal information if you have knowledge of it.

    Failure to follow these rules may result in you being warned, your account having its privileges restricted, or your account being banned/deleted.
    If actions were taken against you and you feel strongly that a mistake was made, send one of the administrators a PM and we’ll address the problem.

    Further Information:
    As a user you agree to any information you have entered to be recorded in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to a third party without your consent, the webmaster, administrator, moderators or Holotech Studios cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. You also acknowledge that all posts made on these forums express the views and opinions of the poster and in no way reflects the opinion of the administrators, moderators or webmaster, none of whom shall be held liable.

    To avoid:
    * “Double Posting”
    Not all forums have this rule, but we would like to keep the boards nice and tidy here. If you post in a thread then want to add something new, or reply to a new post, and your post is the newest, then please use the “Edit” feature to add anything new to the bottom of your post. The only exception to this rule is “Bumping”. For information on that, see below.

    ** About “Bumping”
    On a forum, a “Bump” is when you post in a thread to bring it to people’s attention. This is usually done after it has fallen off the active threads list, or has gone back a page or more in the sub-forum it exists in. If you were the last one to post in a thread, you are allowed to bump it with a new post if it has been an hour and you either have new, relevant information to add, 24 hours have passed, or it is no longer in the first page in its sub-forum. If you bump a thread without meeting one of these criteria, your post will be considered spam.

    Stickied to test tools~

    If you (the user) have any questions regarding the rules, feel free to send a private message, or ask it here. This thread will be left unlocked for questions, but anything that is not a question (or useful to this thread) will be deleted.

    You just said that advertising is wrong here. But what about if you advertise something that you have created with Facerig itself? Would it be good idea to have a place where you can advertise stuff that you have created with this program?

    Advertisement is a gray area, to be honest.
    If it is something you MADE, I think we’ll usually allow it.
    For now, there’s no reason to really think about that in particular as the program isn’t out yet.

    One thing I do suggest is for user made content is to check out the community website http://facerig.us as that is a good place to show off own models and the like.

    Showing community made models/art for FaceRig (done by you or somebody else) is not considered advertising and is actually encouraged (even if the model/drawing is up for sale). The fact that they will be available for sale can be mentioned in the posts, but it shouldn’t be spammed or anything. For example if you make a Kitty avatar that you are willing to sell, you can post it in a thread and show it off and inform people that it’s for sale and that will be more than OK. If instead you make a post about the Kitty avatar and start spamming other threads about your for sale Kitty avatar, that won’t be acceptable.
    Pretty much if it’s something related to FaceRig or something artsy or just something that you really like and feel like other people on the forum will be interested in as well, you can put it up even if it’s something that can be bought/sold.
    As an example we have the games thread going were we talk about what games we’re playing/have played and I’m pretty sure none of us considered it advertising even if the games can actually be bought 🙂

    The rules we mentioned were mainly targeted to the people that make a forum account here just to advertise for random thing X that most of the users don’t really care about (like a toaster or a couch for example 😛 ).

    That’s the plan right now and if anything changes we’ll let everybody know 🙂
