Well I for one am hoping we can get Solair from Dark Souls and a generic guard from Skyrim!

Now if only people at Nintendo could be coaxed into this. >_>

Because both have their faces covered by helmets it is much less likely they’ll be included. Though, popularity factor considered, I bet both are gonna happen at one point.. Either officially or community made (most likely the latter)

    Since it is just suggestions!

Heart & Slash They were a Kickstarter game, still being made right now. Can easily contact them through their kickstarter page!

DUELYST Another kickstarter game! All the actual in game art is pixels, but I bet some 3d models of their characters would be absolutely stunning.

Totally want Dust an Elysian Tale <3

    Skull Girls?

Hitting up Valve would be good too. Imagine having Glados as your avatar! Or the TF2 gang! so many things!

    Skullgirls = yes
Avatars from D:AET would be great too (as already mentioned just a little bit ;))
Perhaps Bastion (and Transistor) as well? I’m fairly sure they’re indie. 🙂

Another team you could possibly hit up could be the Mane6 group. They were making a completely free fighting game based of of My Little Pony, but were shut down due to Hasbro being a stick in the mud. But they are continuing even with help from one of the top MLP people to still finish the game but have art far enough away from MLP to get away with it. Could tend to the pony peoples o.O

I really don’t think those are good options. It’s a game that caters a niche group, it’s a game/series that has no iconic characters, and the point is not to just make characters because you like said characters or because said characters are furry, but the ones that most likely are recognizable, in my mind is how it is. If it’s going to be licensed avatars, making them completely unknown characters that no one will appreciate is, a waste of money that could go to more popular things or more equally interesting characters.

But an Anthro-Shark in any sense can always be good. Just, is a typical idea as an animal rather than because [/Character]

I probably would have handled this with a little more tact but yeah, pretty much this.

Characters need to be recognizable and something that others will appreciate. If they’re from a niche game that few people know about, it would probably send traffic towards the source, but it would all in all be considered a waste of funds. The ideal business model for something like this would be characters that would encourage a purchase due to people recognizing the characters, as WELL a still having the ability to push people towards the character source and encourage people to buy what it came from.

Furthermore, no offence intended, but none of those characters except the shark are remotely original. The shark gets a pass from me but only because it is an uncommon species, not because the character design itself is original.

I’m going to go now before I get myself in trouble :3

Blizzard’s Starcraft(2). They aren’t exactly “indie game dev” buuuut…. Also some SC 2 streamers might like it.

Sergal aggressions in their wording. It’s more likely than you think. Not that offenses are the intent, I blame passive-aggressiveness and temperamental traits. 😛 I try to compensate with what I hope to be the truthiest truth that can be truthed.

But yes. As I had said 😮 That and the same for the Shark, cause, Sharks. – Sharks and Sergals come nearly hand in hand, probably would make a good Duo together, hah.

I like people that are completely honest and ne feelings were hurt here. Only why I suggested them was that they are fairly recent and are the first thing that came to my mind.

Well 😛 Kudos to you then! Most people get upset and overreact or get insecure, I respect people that can take a Milllld jab and stay their position, shows character.

Because I also despise people that beat around the bush. Meet them too often ;o which is more or less why I rather just be the opposite…

And yay for improper quoting/easily-breaking quoting system! Misquoting people if it goes beyond 2-3 people in one bundled-quote.

As for sharks. Anyone remember ‘Street Sharks’? XD

Also, I nominate Agent Voxine from Wildstar 😛

I’d love to see some of the popular anime characters done.

Though to be honest since you’d be dealing with all kinds of licensing, I don’t even know who you’d really want to talk to. Is it the American company licensing it here, or the Japanese company publishing it in Japan, or the Manga publisher since so many of them were manga before anime, or the original manga artist since they ‘may’ still have the rights to control that kind of stuff.

Then there will probably be a language barrier. Those really suck, but are pretty much unavoidable when working with global issues.

Despite that, I have some favorites, but I’ll limit it to some of the more current ones being shown in the US. I’ll try to include some data on who has it, but I’m just grabbing that from a wiki, and again, I don’t know which of them is the correct one.

There’s a ton of others I’d love to see as well, maybe even more, but it’s probably best to stick with what’s better known at the moment.
(Just had an image of Speed Racer characters being used. Not one of my favorites, but it would be recognized.)
Still, I know enough to not hold my breath, this appears to be a rather daunting task. Then again, Japanese companies and artists have been know to go along with, and even support oddball stuff like this for reasons of self-promotion, showing support for other creative endeavors, and sometimes just plain grins & giggles.
If the language barrier can be broken, and some bureaucratic red tape gotten through, with a bit of luck it could actually happen.

Otherwise you’d be better off dealing with smaller outfits like 2k Games http://www.2kgames.com/, who made Bioshock and Borderlands, or Gabe and Tycho from Penny Arcade http://www.penny-arcade.com/ who have a number of interesting characters and activities.

You know, Borderlands characters would be rather cool, be it original, 2, or the pre-sequel. (I don’t know why they don’t call it a prequel like everyone else, but hey, they’re the ones that advertised having a bajillion guns in Borderlands 2…)
